The Borscht was Great!

Just got back from dinner with Julia. Julia ended up really enjoying the borscht compared to the smoky chicken dish that she ordered. Oh well------ who said we had to finish everything off of our plates?

Our afternoon visit with Alex went well---- but I am so done visiting my child everyday. It feels so much like a chore---- which I hate saying-- but it is true. It feels weird looking forward to our visit with Alex and then watching the time go by slowly hoping that this is the last visit before we get to take him away for good.

Our facilitator is coming back in the morning so this is our last "just girls" night--- free to not close the door when we shower-- free to eat in the living room---- free to binge on ice-cream. But it also means having a translator again which is nice to have last minute questions answered.

Hope you have a nice Sunday!

I've *heard* those visits can get real old!! Too bad!! It'll get so much more fun when you get to get him out of there - when will you be able to take him for good??

Visits are hard. Especially in a restricted area with others watching every move. How nice it'll be to have him home and just blend in with the others.

Oh, I remember the "visits"! We had 6 weeks of them in Kaz and we fondly called them "ground hog day visits" like the Bill Murray movie. I think Nick dreaded them as much as we did....it was SUCH a blessing to spring him from the orphanage and just act normal in our apt there. Now, there are days that I wish I could only see him again for 2 hours a day, hee, hee! He went from a painfully quiet, loner 3 year old to a exuberant, passionate and quite loud 5 year old.....you better watch out with Alex! ;)

You're almost home...will be before you know it! Yeah, that borscht was amazing. I would LOVE to have the recipe for it. Have looked high and low since being home, but never found it like there.
Praying for you all.
Take extra good care,
