*POOF*

Honestly, today has been a rough day for me. After typing up two key documents that need to get over to Ukraine ASAP, notarizing them, and then authenticating the notary's signature yesterday, I had plans of going up to Fresno to have them apostilled. I was driving up to Caleb's orthodontist visit anyways, so I wanted to save gas and time and do it all in the same trip. Well, the documents are missing--- *poof* into thin air, and I was almost late to his appointment from searching the whole house. Nearly in tears as I drove on the freeway--- all the kids with me because today is a holiday, I felt really defeated. Silly I know, but all of my work that I had done yesterday felt like it was done for nothing--- and now it looks like I will have to redo everything. Thank God--- I quickly got over it--- really I did, and I explained the whole adoption process to Rachel and Annalyn on the drive.

My Mom watched most of the kids while I took Caleb to his appointment--- a good thing since they were absolutely rambunctious today. Totally embarrassed by their "Jumping off the walls" behavior, I cut our visit short. Thankful to just get home, I tried looking for the documents some more--- while the kids ate lunch.

I have accepted that they are gone--- and I have resolved not to worry about them until Tuesday. But God, I am going to need your help keeping my mind off of them. I want to think of You every time I think of the documents---- but I am weak..........

As I close, I had to mention that I happened to check on our Reece's Rainbow sponsorship page. People have contributed over $200 since I last checked! Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a wonderful blessing!

It is a warm and encouaging feeling to see all of you partnering to bring Alexsey home!

I had the same surreal thing happen to one of our documents....miserably the marriage certificate, which had to come from Oregon - where state records are kept in one city and the Great Seal is in another... So they had to make a certificate then send it back to me, to send back to Oregon again. Still hasn't turned up! (And over a year after bringing Ilya home....I'm still looking for it.

I'm sorry to hear you can't find the documents. We are having our own issues here not being able to get clear direction on the documents we need produced, such as my employment letter. It was finished today, four different versions, and I pray one of them will work and it won't have to be redone because I need to send it off for an apostille in a different state. Anyway, The Lord knows all of this and all the snags we'll hit as we go along. I must remind myself that He's in control, even as I get frustrated that most of the docs seem to be mysteries...and meanwhile, the I-171H is here already! Lord, help us all trust You in this process, for it's Your story of redemption for these precious children.

I totally hear ya!
I just "lost" a document yesterday - and it was the house description one that I had to beg and plead our county to do - because its not the "norm"! Someone decided to crayon on it! Arghhhhhh...
Breathe in - breathe out! hehe and don't forget to smile!

Last year I lost $100 and later found it clipped to my fridge but hiding behind an unimportant paper. It was gone for about a month, I think. Maybe your papers will show up yet, and maybe the Lord has another important meeting for you in gettting the documents replaced. Keep giving it back to Him.

Ugh. I hate that. Papers will get mixed in with kid's school papers and filed in the folders I keep for them or just end up somewhere totally unexpected. Good time to have everyone do a walk through of the house.

We do not get any days off for President's Day : ( We did in the Christian school and would use the long weekend for a trip for Jasmine's bd. But once we transferred into the public school, we lost that Monday off.

They will show up. If something goes missing in our house we usually ask Jack (age3) where is this or that (sometimes an example, like a piece of paper helps) and he usually takes us straight to it. Turns out he likes to 'stash' things in his drawers in his room. You would be surprised at what we have found in there. So hang in there, they will turn up soon.

Whenever this happens at my house I check the recycle bin. It often happens that the paper I need accidentally got picked up with a stack of newspapers and old schoolwork that was headed to the bin. I've been known to stand out in the freezing cold going through the 96 gallon bin piece by piece! Good luck. I hope you find it!

Hi Reed family! I am VERY happy to see that you are bringing Aleksey home. I frequently visit Reece's Rainbow and have always been drawn to Aleksey. His huge smile and flirty eyes grab your heart. I wanted very badly to go get Aleksey. Unfortunately it's just not the right time for us to adopt again yet. Our boys were adopted from Antoshka in Dec 2006 and we plan to return again when we feel God tell us the time is right. To be honest, as I longed to bring Aleksey to my home, I always felt God telling me that he belonged in your family. Aleksey was born to be a Reed. I take a lot of comfort in knowing that Aleksey has found his family. I can't wait to follow your blog and watch Aleksey become the boy he was born to be.
Also, we would really like to send a letter and pictures back to Antoshka of our boys if this is something you would be willing to take with you. We do not expect you to and will understand if you cannot. I know you have a lot of your own things to bring.
God Bless~Crystal Leighton

I kid you not, I loose something every day. Right now my driver's license has been missing for 4 days. I've lost big checks several times over the years. I swear, there is something wrong with me! Anyway, to find things I pray. (I know you do too!) and say, "God, I know YOU know where it is, and I know I'm looking in the wrong places. Please show me where to look." Usually within a couple of minutes I'll think of somewhere to look that I hadn't previously (and it's almost always out in the open! LOL) I haven't taken the time to do that with my license yet, so I'll go do that now! LOL

I will pray that you find the documents. I always ask the Lord to show me some place I haven't looked yet when looking for something. If they don't turn up I will pray you can get them done quickly and to Ukraine ASAP! I know it takes tons of work. Lord, please help Christine as she has this paperwork on her mind. Set her at ease and give her the peace to move forward with new paperwork. If not then please show her where the papers are. In Your Name, Amen.
