Pig pig Pig

Hip-hip-hooray!

Our dossier made it safely to Ukraine and is now being translated.

One more step closer.

Thank you for all of your prayers. I know that they have helped to carry us this far.

Quick Story

My husband started first telling our kids this story when their was just three of them. He said that his mother told him that if when you were driving and you were approaching a red light all you had to do was keep saying, "Pig pig pig pig pig pig pig pig pig....." until the light turned green. She said that it had magical ways of making the red light turn green. Now all of our kids have heard the story and some actually believe that the word "pig" has the ability to speed up a red traffic light.

If this is true, maybe it has the same magical power to hurry up our travel date.

Can all of you start saying, "Pig pig pig pig pig pig..." with me?

That's cute. I have my kids convinced all they have to do is blow air towards the red light to make it change. (I stole that idea from the movie "Corinna Corinna" Hee hee)

I'll have to try that. I'm very impatient at red lights.

I wonder if you in your next q/a session you could tell me about dmitri? (the little boy who is blind/missing an eye) What is ablities are and if they are offering him any training for his visual impairment? I'm especially concerned for him with the new coming out of Ukraine right now and literally no one showing an interest in him :( not a single dollar in his grant fund. I couldn't legally adopt from Ukraine (single) but I have I desperate heart for this boy right now. (Along with others from his orphanage...Kiril is a also a handsome fellow) but I actually work at CCVI (children's center for the visually impaired) and know first hand how much these children can accomplish (anything) and also how important it is to teach them skills early because they will naturally lag behind. Most skills are learned because of visual interest ..babies want to sit up to see better or to crawl to get that toy over there...Dmitri can't do that and he needs someone to show him how to interact with the world. Is there any chance you will spend time with him over there? I would love to discuss techniques that can help him (very simple). Is anyone else going to his orphanage soon that may also be able to help? He seems to have no advocate it breaks my heart.
