Our daughter Julia spent the last few days at Grandma and Grandpa's house because she is leaving with us to Ukraine next weekend. Like usual, she was able to do some work around the house and earn some extra money. They took her to the store to spend it, and you know what she bought? She bought bubbles, and capsules that grow when you put them in water, and little hair barrettes-- all things she wants to take to the orphanage and give to the children.
I am so proud of her. I am very thankful that she has grandparents that encourage and support little things like this. I am positive that this trip is going to be something that she will always remember. Now she will finally get to see what an orphanage looks like and understand exactly where it is that her sisters and two of her brothers came from.
We are leaving in less than one week.
P.S. Happy Fourth of July! Dennis absolutely loved watching the fireworks, and I couldn't help but think about how it will be next July when Alexsey is here with us! I think he will love watching fireworks too!

tears of joy..... For how hard Julia has worked
Happy 5th (4th is already over) : )
If you want some really interesting input, get Julia her own camera. She will see and notice things you would have never thought.
So excited for your family and little Alexsy! I cannot wait to see him safe in your arms!

So many tears of joy for you and little Alexsey right now. I'm sure Anitoly and the other staff will be very excited to see Dennis again also. Can't wait to follow everything while you're there!

What a sweet girl! This is going to be the trip of a lifetime for her. Although, I have a feeling this won't be her last trip to the Ukraine (or somewhere similar). This may spark something in her that can't be stopped!
Loving your sweet Julia through blogland! Love a child with a heart for others!!
